(Carcharhinus plumbeus) -- The Sandbar Shark isn't plentiful but can be found in mid-Atlantic waters from May to September in the Delaware Bay area, which appears to be a mid-point in its migration to southern wintering and northern summering grounds. Sometimes called a Brown Shark because of its brownish color, the Sandbar Shark has a massive set of teeth that are triangular, serrated and razor sharp. Because is it so scarce in this area, Sandbar shark meat isn't available commercially, but the fish does yield delicious meat. The Common Hammerhead SharkThe Atlantic Mako SharkThe Smooth Dogfish SharkThe Sand SharkThe Spiny Dogfish SharkBack to the Main Shark Page
