FISHING REPORT FROM THE STAFF OF BILL’S SPORT SHOP 12-18-07 The "fat lady" hasn't started to sing yet, but she is definitely practicing in the wings. The fish are still around, but the weather has been a serious problem for anglers. Wind and cold have taken their toll and only the very brave are still trying. We have had some reports from charter boats and others that have caught Striper and Tau Tog when they have been able to get out. The fish should hang around for a while, so if you get a chance, we still have the baits and tackle you need. This will be our last fishing report until Spring and Captain Bill Baker, his wife Kathy and the entire staff of Bill's Sport Shop would like to thank each of you for your continued support and look forward to supplying your needs in the future. We will remain open everyday with the exception of Christmas Day. We would also like to wish you and your families a safe and happy holiday season and a very Merry Christmas. Delaware Sport Fishing Tournament The Delaware Sport Fishing Tournament is a popular program that provides recognition patches and citations to anglers whose catch exceeds certain weight minimums for each eligible species. A companion program provides recognition patches for catch and release entries that exceed certain length minimums. For more information on the Delaware Sport Fishing Tournament, please call 302-739-9914 or visit www.fw.delaware.gov/Fisheries.htm and click on “Delaware Sport Fishing Tournament.” Citations are again being issued and fish may be weighed in at Bill's Sport Shop. General Fishing License The Delaware State Legislature has passed and the Governor has signed into law the General Fishing License that will go into effect January 2008. This law--with a few exceptions--will mean that anybody fishing, clamming and crabbing in ANY Delaware waters will be required to purchase a GFL(General Fishing License). We will keep you posted as more information is released. *****FALL HOURS***** Please call for current store hours.

Captain Carey Evans has taken the "Grizzly" to Delaware Bay for Tau Tog and Striper fishing when the weather allows. Captain Evans had Jack Hoffman and his friends for a day of tog fishing at the Outer Wall. They managed a fair catch of Tau Tog including a 13lb 4oz fish caught by Bob Deal. Captain John Nedelka of the Karen Sue charter boat had a nice day today. He landed 7 keeper stripers, South of Bethany, about 1.5 miles off the beach. Also caught were 5 tog and 1- 22 inch flounder. Yesterday he had a good catch of tog also. There is a picture on the Delmarva Saltfish website that somebody posted with a picture of the fish and the charter from yesterday. Today was a "fun" trip with John's mate and his friends and family.
