Glen Sterner won a half-day charter as the grand raffle prize winner, presented by Walt Wilson of "R Way" Charter boat. The Jolly Trolley transported guests from Bill's parking lot across the street and dropped them off in front of the restaurant. They made several trips over and kept a vigilant eye on guests returning. The Staff at Bethany Blues thanks us for our efforts to keep spaces open for their dinner crowd. This week's menu is smoked meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy. Visit our web site for an updated list of prizes and to check on the current standings on the leader board: http://www.billssportshop.com. David's second fish was 39.14" and weighed 19.10lbs Chris Thurmon on the "Skipjack" out of Lewes Harbor Marina, caught 18 keeper stripers on Sat. and 3 on Sun. On another trip, Capt. Chris's anglers caught their limit of stripers at the mouth of the DE. Bay. Captain Chris of "Jam Man" charters out of Lewes, emailed us that he had a very successful tog trip at the Wall last weekend with 15 keepers with the largest hitting the scales at 9.5lbs. Joe Morris, Lewes Harbour Marina, reports boats heading out of Lewes have been doing very well on stripers drifting live spot and eels at 8B Bouy and in the Valley. Other anglers used bucktails and Gulp Jerk Shads. From Sue Foster of Oyster Bay Tackle, Ocean city,: "Last week's blue blitz in the surf was just that. Last week's... not to be repeated this week due to weather conditions.... Anglers had a hard time holding bottom in the surf most of the week. A couple nice stripers were reported from Assateague, but that was about it! Most people trying the surf got skunked. Delaware Bay stripers turned on with some good sized fish early in the week. And offshore tautog fishing was good when the boats got out. Most anglers fishing Assateague surf didn't catch anything but sharks and skates, but rumor has it a 41-inch and a 46-incher was caught." Sea Bass Closure NOAA announced the temporary closure of the black sea bass recreational fishery in federal waters north of Cape Hatteras, N.C., for 180 days in response to recent landings data that showed recreational fishermen may catch more than double their annual quota by the end of the year. Indian River Inlet Dredge Project The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, announced dredging will begin at the Indian River Inlet along the Coast Guard bulkhead and along the adjacent stone shoreline. Shoaling over time forced the main channel to move against the north interior shoreline.
