FISHING NEWS!

'Lil Angler'
Captain Chet has been fishing ocean wrecks and has had limits of sea bass and some nice catches of tau tog including a couple 10+ pounders.

'Pole Position'
Mako Shark fishing aboard the Pole Position was a winner on Sunday. The charter fished the Fingers and caught and released 3 Makos with the largest around 140 pounds. They also hooked into and released a Blue Whaler Shark.

'Pandemonium'
Captain Steve Peterson emailed us that the bluefish bite around the Lightship has been red hot! Captain Peterson said they trolled ponytails and rag mops for the blues and then bottom fished for sea bass. Steve said the sea bass are much larger than they had been in the previous 2 weeks. Captain Petersen reported that the mako bite around the 20 fathom lump area has been good, although most are small and must be released. Despite their size, the aerial antics of these toothy critters is worth the effort to catch and release them. To catch the Yellowfin tuna that are around, Steve reports that they have been heading south on board the Pandemonium.

'Fin-Fitz'
Captain Dennis Peck is still busy around the inshore areas. Captain Peck is now offering free fly fishing instruction for anyone that wants to try their hand at this time honored method of fishing. The new 27 foot boat added this year to the Fin-Fitz fleet is even equipped with a casting deck. Fin Fitz has all the necessary tackle and catching the blues and shad in the area can be a blast on a light fly rod. Captain Dennis reports that flounder fishing has improved in the areas around Burtons Island for anglers using squid and minnow combinations and that blues are eagerly taking white bucktails with white twister tails.

'FishOnCharters'
Captain George Merrick reports that his latest charters have met with great success. His parties have caught stripers in IRI on spot during the day and eels at night. Greg Erb and crew caught a very nice Thresher and trips have been getting their limits of big blues at the Lightship. Sea bass fishing has improved between A and B Buoys as well as the ocean wrecks. Last Sunday Captain Merrick reported a fine catch of 7 Yellowfin tuna at the Washington Canyon and also managed a gaffer dolphin.

'The Captain Tom'
Captain Tom McClure phoned that he had another awesome blue fish trip to the area around the Delaware Lightship. He headed to A Buoy first without much success and then cashed in at the Lightship with 30 big blues in the 10 pound class.
