FISHING NEWS!

'SMOKINEM CHARTERS'
Captain Gil says that he had his first charter this weekend and the boat headed to an area just south of 'B' buoy. The folks hooked into large bluefish in the 8 to 15 pound class. They quickly limited on blues and then bottom fished to see what the sea bass action was like. Captain Coombes said the bass action was a little slow, but they did catch a few around 3 to 4 pounds.

'Blue Collar Man'
Captain Andy Snyder took a party headed up by Ed Curry to Site 11 for a day of wreck fishing. The only sea bass bite they had was in the morning and the group caught around 2 dozen sea bass. As soon as the tide changed, Captain Andy said the fish stopped biting.

'Fin-Fitz'
Captain Dennis Peck is still busy with inshore charters. Dennis reported that the bluefish have shown up in larger numbers just outside IRI and the fish are running a little bigger; up to 20 inches. Captain Pick said the blues were hitting white bucktails with white twisters. The hickory shad are still hitting Spec rigs, but their numbers are dropping a little as the water temperature warms up. Captain Dennis&Mac226;s parties have been using bucktails, Storm Lures, and live spot to catch IRI stripers, but Dennis said the linesiders were on the small size. His trout catches are increasing, but most are short of the keeper limit of 13 inches.

'Crikey'
Captain Tom Malewski headed out to a favorite area northwest of 'B' buoy and had a steady pick of sea bass, sea robins, and sharks. Captain Tommy&Mac226;s group had 5 citation sea bass among their catch. They ran to the Old Grounds and caught a couple of fish, but moved back to the buoy because of the bite was better.

'The Captain Tom'
Captain Tom McClure phoned that he had an awesome blue fish trip to the area around the Delaware Lightship. His charter caught around 30 of the big chompers on hula skirts and everybody onboard had a good time.
