Recreational Crabbing
With a Crab Trap

The hand trap method of crabbing involves lowering a trap to the bottom and periodically raising it to check for crabs.

The collapsible traps eliminate the potential for error in using a dip net and are useful for crabbing from a bridge or deep water where a net is not practical or the crab could drop off the line on the way up.
