Lewes Artists' Studio Tour

Sep. 21, 2013
From: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
19 Art Studios within Lewes

Nineteen regionally and nationally-acclaimed Lewes artists will again open their studios on Saturday, September 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  This is a unique opportunity to meet artists in their studios, see them at work and perhaps win an original piece of art that will be given away in a drawing at the end of the day at each studio.  There is no charge for taking the tour!

A resounding success in years past, the Lewes Artists’ Studio Tour showcases the diverse talent in the Lewes art community and gives the public a chance to explore and discover the variety of media presented by these artists.  Painting, textiles, photography, jewelry, wood, mosaics and mixed media represent the diversity of their art work.

The artists again opening their studios on the tour include:    Barbara Warden, Bert Long, Lorelei Meanor, Steve Rogers, Pat Staby, Aina Nergaard-Nammack, Kevin Fleming, Jean Doran, Marilyn Nugent, Victor Letonoff, Lacy Letonoff, Barbara Petterson, Caryl Ekirch Williams, George Williams, Connie Miller, Nick Serratore, Susan Bartley, Perry Drevo and Leslie Delmege McDonald.

Two returning artists, Susan Bartley and Perry Drevo, are showcasing their brand-new studios!  Susan, previously on Gills Neck Road and now on Third Street, is a goldsmith who designs and creates fine art jewelry.  Perry, previously on Kings Highway and now on Jefferson St., is a fiber artist and handweaver who brings color and fiber together to create shawls, scarves, and table linens.

Brochures with maps indicating the location of each studio are available in the Lewes and Rehoboth Chambers of Commerce, as well as shops and hotels throughout the Lewes/Rehoboth area, and on our website at www.lewesart.com.

Clear Space Theatre Company presents the Foreigner by Larry Shue

September 27 - October 13, 2013. Sept. 27-28 - 7PM; Sept. 29 - 3PM; Oct. 3 - 11AM; Oct. 4-5 - 7PM; Oct. 6 - 3PM; Oct. 11-12 - 7PM; Oct. 13 - 3PM. Bashful Brit Charlie Baker is on holiday with his friend Froggy at a fishing lodge in rural Georgia. Charlie is so shy, in fact, that he can’t speak to the strangers sharing the lodge. So, Froggy convinces everyone that Charlie is from a strange, exotic land and doesn’t understand English. His timidity backfires when the other visitors confide in him their deepest, darkest secrets – like the fact that the minister’s young fiancé is pregnant, or the plan by a local redneck to turn to the lodge into a meeting house for the KKK. That Charlie does understand them only fuels the hilarity of the play, and leads to the ultimate comic downfall of the bad guys!

Delaware’s 2013 Light The Night Walk

For the 14th year in a row, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) aims to stomp out blood cancer through our Light The Night® (LTN) Walk campaign. These Walks are powerful, unique events which bring together families, co-workers and communities to honor blood cancer patients & survivors, as well as those lost to the disease. Friends, families and co-workers form fundraising teams, and millions of consumers help by donating at retail outlets. These efforts culminate in inspirational, memorable evening Walks in nearly two hundred communities each fall across North America. During this leisurely walk, participants carry illuminated balloons. Thousands of walkers form a community of caring, and bring light to the dark world of cancer.
