Intro to Jewelry Making

In this course students will learn about the basic tools and techniques used in the jewelry-making process. Each class will build on the knowledge gained from the previous class. Topics covered will include beading wire, crimps, split rings/jump rings and clasps. Supply List for each project will be discussed at the first class.

American Sign Language

Jan. 14, 2014 - Feb. 18, 2014

This highly requested non-credit course will focus on vocabulary specific to every day communication. Students will learn finger spelling, numbers, and signed hand shapes. They will also gain knowledge of the deaf culture in a fun and relaxed learning environment.

Writing Your Memoirs

Portrait Painting for Acrylic or Oil

This class is for the intermediate level painter who would like to learn the fundamentals of painting a portrait (from photographs) including posing the subject, basic facial anatomy, expression and capturing a likeness. This class relies heavily on student practice and one – on one instruction, therefore the class size is limited.

Introductory Spanish

This non-credit course is perfect for a true beginner of Spanish whose objective is to learn just enough Spanish to get by in a Spanish-speaking environment. Participants will experience a “hands-on” fun approach that includes greetings and leave-takings, numbers and the alphabet, asking for and following directions, telling time, describing clothing, and ordering from a menu. The goal is enough knowledge to survive in a Spanish culture.

Basics of Digital Camera

Rehoboth Beach Film Society's Delmarva Roots series presents "Shored Up"

Rehoboth Beach Film Society and Milton Historical Society co-present Delmarva Roots, a three-part film series featuring films about Delmarva’s rich history. The first film event of the 2014 series takes place on Friday, Jan 31, 2014, at 7:00 pm, with a screening of “Shored Up” at the Milton Fire Hall, 116 Front Street, Milton, Delaware. Admission for this event is $5 for adults and $3 for children twelve and under. Tickets can be purchased online at www.rehobothfilm.com or by calling the Rehoboth Beach Film Society at 302.645.9095, ext. 1.“Shored Up” is a documentary that asks tough questions about the relationship between coastal communities and the ocean. Geoff Berkshire from “Variety” magazine writes, “Shored Up delivers a sobering examination of the threat rising sea levels pose to coastal cities and the economic factors that encourage doubters to keep their heads firmly buried in disappearing sand.” The film was directed and produced by Philadelphia filmmaker, Ben Kalina of Mangrove Media. Kalina is an award winning director and producer whose work focuses on the intersection of science, culture and the environment.
