Police Department
The Ocean Pines Police Department is comprised of a Chief, 13 officers, 5 civilian dispatchers and 1 community service representative. Two officers have been certified by the International Police Mountain Bike Association to give Ocean Pines its own Bike Patrol. All sworn police officers are currently certified officers under the Maryland Police Training Commission and have completed 17 weeks of intensive training at the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy. |
Fire Department
Part of the Worcester County and Maryland state system of volunteer fire departments, the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department serves Ocean Pines and the surrounding areas. The department is staffed by 24-hour EMTs/Paramedics with volunteers providing backup. Stations with two modern fire engines each are located on the North and South sides of The Pines. All firefighters have completed the Fire and Rescue Basic Course from the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. Most have Intermediate or Advanced Level training. |
