Broadkill River: Trout season is in full swing at the Broadkill River as anglers are filling their coolers with nice catches. Don Halverson, J.T. Bolding and Bill Reel checked in with stringers of fish including some in the 5-3/4 lb class, all caught on peeler crabs. Rob Austin caught a 4-1/2 LB trout on chicken. James Hinds landed 2 Flounder up to 18" using squid and he was also at the Broadkill.
Roosevelt Inlet: Trout are showing up in good numbers. Parker Atwood caught 25 trout with 2 keepers on peeler crab and chicken.
Delaware Bay: Bud Johnson, while fishing for Flounder boated a 16 Lb striper caught on a minnow. Stripers are hitting eels and plugs at Brown Shoals.
Cape Henlopen State Park Pier: Trout, Flounder and Blues are coming over the rails, best baits are Peeler Crab, Minnows and Peeler Oil soaked in squid strips.
Offshore: The first Mako to come into the Indian River Inlet was caught southeast of the Jackspot on the Tuna Bite with Capt. Howard Lynch. The Mako weighed in at 230 Lb. Trish Fink trolled Ballyhoo and boated an 11 Lb Bluefish at the Liightship. Blues in that size range are also reported slamming the boats at the southeast grounds. Bottom bouncers at 'B' buoy are producing Sea Bass.
Indian River: Small Blues and Shad were caught on bucktails. Brian Elliott reported good striper fishing on eels and Bob Salvatore landed a 36" Bluefish on an Orange Belly Bomber. Greg Husong limited out on flounder using Spec Rigs and minnows drifting the Indian River Bay. Bob VanHeest caught Flounder on top and bottom rigs tipped with minnows and he also picked up small stripers on the same rigs.
