Delaware Lightship -- 66.6 degrees
Lewes -- 55 degrees As of May 8, 2000

As predicted, the warm weather has definitely improved the fishing scene with anglers nailing Sea Trout from Broadkill to Cape Henlopen on chicken breast, frozen peelers and peeler soaked squid.

Lewes Beach: Paul Hazzard checked in with 3 Trout up to 17 inches.

Roosevelt Inlet: Bill Golden brought in an 8.4-pound Trout.

Cape Henlopen Pier: Producing nice size Trout, Flounder and Bluefish.

Cape Henlopen State Park: Emily Krasney nailed a 30-inch Bluefish and Jeff Pluto caught several smaller Blues on mullet.

Massey's Ditch: Cody Shirk, age 8, brought a 27" striper in. He caught it on peeler squid on a sassy shad.

Surf: Three R's Rd. was a hot spot this week with reports of bluefish making their annual run. Bill Weiss, George and Liz Brittingham caught blues up to 21" on whole mullet. Lauren, Megan and Mickey Bremer landed 20 blues on cut mullet at Dewey Beach.

Offshore: Captain Steve aboard the Pandemonium, loaded up on sea bass on the Sub. wreck. Frank Tier brought a 12.23lb. tog to the scales from an ocean wreck. Scott Fink trolled the buoy line and caught bluefish close to the Lightship.

Indian River: Stephen South picked up bluefish, big trout and flounder at the Indian River Inlet. John Dalewski limited on tog up to 18" on green crabs in the rocks at the Inlet.
