Cape Henlopen Pier: Congratulations to Trish Fink who won a trophy for placing 2nd at the pier youth tournament catching 24 fish. The pier was a hot spot this week as anglers filled theircoolers with trout, spot and croaker catching their keepers on spec rigs, fin s jigs tipped with peelers and squid.
Offshore: Captain Steve on the Pandemonium chunked up 60lb bluefin at the hambone. Another charter boat the "Pole Position" trolled up Yellowfin and Dolphin at the Baltimore Canyon. Tuna are found at the hambone and king mackerel at the jack spot. Sea bass and founder action was good for the bottom bouncers at "B" buoy. Michelle Tobak weighed in a 1-3/4lb Sea Bass that she caught between "A" and "B" buoys on squid.
Broadkill: The river turned on again this week, nice size trout were caught on peeler crabs. Brian Parsons reported 3 and 4 Lb trout and a 58" shark.
Delaware Bay: Lynn Cole checked in with a 3.93 Lb Oceanic puffer, which is indigeneous to Bermuda, Jason and Danielle Knoll boated 9 keeper flounder up to 18" caught at the Beach Ball on squid and minnows where croakers were also being caught. Flounder are being caught at the Anchorage. Pat Babby nailed an 8Lb striper in the Lewes canal on a peeler crab.
Indian River: Jim Childs and Tom Stebner caught a mixed bag of fish from the jetty. A 32-1/2" striper, 28" Black Drum and a 31" red drum all on plugs. Rigged and live eels produced stripers up to 24-1/2 Lbs for Petri Vo,Kerry Lodish,Steve Kiibler, John Sapienza and Garland Williams. Brian Elliott and Parker Atwood bagged stripers and a 5klb trout on a purple and black bomber. Stripers, Flounder and Trouit are being caught drifting the Indian River Bay.
