Offshore: Action heated up this weekend as tuna and wahoo were caught at the Hot Dog and Hambone with bluefin up to 106 Lbs. most being caught chunking at the dog. Pole Position reported 7 bluefin at the hambone and broke off a blue marlin after a 10 minute battle at the 30 fathom line. Stan Dove trolled up a 41Lb wahoo with a spoon. Reelistic Capt Billy Verbanis weighed in a new state record Mako saturday eve after a 14 hour battle. The huge Mako weighed 975 Lbs. Good sea bass action was reported at A buoy, John Shank and his dad caught sea bass up to 1-3/4 lbs using clams at B buoy.
Cape Henlopen Pier: gave up flounder, trout, croaker, spot and blues for Tony and Todd Hammaker, sometimes landing two at a time on spec rigs and fin s jigs.
Roosevelt Inlet: produced 6 trout and a 22" flounder for Antwine Nocks using peeler crab. Nice flounder were reported at A buoy in the bay caught on minnows and squid. Flounder are also being caught at the anchorage, brown shoal and the beach ball.
Surf: Tom Flanagan caught trout, Spot and kingfish on the surf at Rehoboth Beach on bloodworms. Blues, Sharks and Skates are biting at 3 r's road. Nice trout were caught at the beach at Cape Henlopen. Jamie Hall landed his limit of trout up to 32" at the navy jetty.
Indian River: Giving up trout under the bridge. Kerry Lodish,Brian Pacht,John Sapienza and David Kneip landed stripers up to 41" on eels. Flounder are being caught by the drifters in the indian river bay.
