Lewes, Delaware Fishing Report |
Finally a fishing report! Signs of spring are upon us. White perch are hitting bloodworms and grass shrimp at the Broadkill river and catfish are being caught there too on cut bunker.
Sandy reported undersized stripers and shad at 3R's road.
Eddie J. caught a 16 Lb Striper at Massey's Ditch on a ratteltrap. He said it came in like a log because of the very cold water temperatures and he must have casted right in front of his mouth, but it was caught.
Frank Tier, Randy and Debbie Grubb stopped in for pictures of their limit of Tog up to 7Lbs last weekend on a wreck 17 miles off shore. TauTog action is pretty consistant when the weather cooperates. He said that the weather blew up and they had to come in in 7 foot seas
returning wet and cold but happy.
There are rumers of Mackerel off the Virginia coast. A few boats went looking for them this weekend but no reports yet. We are anticipating their arrival any time now. As soon as the water reaches 45' they should be here, lets hope that this year they are in abundance.
Gravel Hill Pond on Rt 9 by Besche Bros Furniture store has been stocked twice with rainbow trout and anglers are reporting catches on power bait and rooster tails. Keep in mind that a fresh water license and a trout stamp is required.
Bill's Sport Shop is donating the use of their parking lot on Saturday April 7th. for a fishing tackle flea market. There is no charge for space, now is your chance to get rid of your fishing equipment that you no longer use. For more information call us at 302-645-7654.
