FISHING REPORT

Water Temp: Delaware Lightship - 51.4'
The outgoing tide worked best for Chris Lehman who used live herring to catch a 17.41 lb. striper at the Indian River Inlet. Kerry Lodish, Bobby Salvatore and Al Boyd caught keeper stripers on orange belly bombers and rigged eels Fri. night. Also at the Inlet, John Phillips boated 3 stripers up to 34" drifting live herring. Tautog are being pulled from the rocks at the Inlet crunching green crabs. Tog and stripers were caught at Massey's Landing.
On the surf this week, John Zalewski caught blowfish at 3 R's Rd. and the surf at Cape Henlopen on bloodworms. Small blues were also caught at 3R's Rd. and Dewey Beach on mullet.
Site 11 is 16 miles from the Indian River Inlet where subway cars from New York were dumped last summer. The site, referred to as the Redbird Reef, produced sea bass up to 5 1/2 lbs. for Don Franklin and Jeff Neal aboard their boat using clams and fleas. Ocean wrecks produced tog for Carl Roca and Carl, Jr.; Scott Ayars caught 2 citation sea bass over 4 lbs. along with ling and tog on clams.
The Broadkill procuced trout and blowfish. Brandon Bogetti drifted the Outer Wall and nailed 2 stripers up to 11.57 lbs. on bucktails and eels. Charlie Mosely caught a 24" trout at Roosevelt Inlet where good reports of keeper trout are being caught. Trudy Moore and crew had a great fishing trip at the wall where they caught 8 nice tog ranging from 16 to 19 1/2 inches, and a blowfish.
At the Pier at Cape Henlopen, 'Harry' pulled 5 stripers, 5 trout up to 18" and herring over the rails using pink bubblegum finesse jigs and worms.
Fresh Water - At a local Pond, Evan Hutton, age 10, landed a 20 1/2" largemouth bass on a powerworm.
Carol Novocin released a citation 13" yellow perch at Burton's Pond caught on a nightcrawler.

Count your blessings and add one more! On Sunday May 5th bring your family and vessels to the Fisherman's Wharf on the Lewes Harbor, for the 15th annual Blessing of the Fleet. This tradition is meant to bless and grant safe passage to all sea going craft. All boat owners and spectators are welcome. Line your boat up in the Lewes Harbor at 1:00 PM and become part of this ages old tradition.
