The Cape Henlopen Pier continues to provide a thrill a minute for anglers in the Rehoboth Beach-Lewes area.
According to Capt. Bill Baker of Bill's Sport Shop, fishermen are raking in "lots" of Flounder and Trout off the pier, as well as an occasional small Striper and Bluefish.
Steve Wright hooked 9 Flounder and a Trout on spec rigs and minnows and Sam North weighed in a nice Flounder caught on a spec rig and minnows.
The Delaware Bay has been yielding Trout, Flounder, Stripers and Tautog.
Jeff DeMarco and Mike Napier used green crabs to land 6.5-pound and 8.5-pound 'Togs, respectively. John Jannuzzio had good luck with Weakfish using a black jig head and black worm and peelers. Brian and Brendan Bills landed a 23-pound Striper at the Overfalls Shoals on eels. And Wally Borgmann and his father limited out on Trout, Flounder and 'Tog in the bay.
Offshore, Baker reports "lots" of Slammer Blues trolling with hoochies, ragmops and ponytails. Sea Bass and Tautog have been productive around the wrecks with green crabs and sand fleas and Mako have been reported off Ocean City, Maryland.
In Roosevelt Inlet, Robert Mitchell caught an 8-pound Trout on a Finesse jig and a peeler, Tommy Mills reported catching Trout on peelers, and Jake Murdick and Linda Boyle limited out on Trout using peelers.
At Broadkill, Junior Hussong limited out on Trout using boneless chicken breast strips on two trips. And John Knoll caught two Weakfish, one 3.5 pounds and the other 2.25 pounds, on peeler crabs.
At Indian River Inlet, Bill Hamilton caught and weighed in a 22.5-pound Striper caught on a black worm from the North Jetty. Blues have been there in the 4- to 6-pound range. Baker has also heard reports that Blues have begun producing in the surf on mullet and Kingfish on bloodworms at 3Rs Road just south of Indian River Inlet.
Austin Ruby, 6 years old, caught the most notable fresh water fish of the week with a 1 7/8-pound bass taken on a worm at Griffith Lake.
