Trout continued to be the most productive fish in the Lewes Delaware area this week.
In the Delaware Bay, Art Thompson limited out on Trout using squid and minnows at the Outer Wall. Other anglers had success at the Cape Henlopen Pier, where Cliff Jordan used chicken, and at Broadkill, where Nick Esposito landed a 6-pounder on peeler crabs.
The Delaware Bay also yielded Tautog and Triggerfish, as Wally Borgmann caught both on green crabs and spec rigs with squid. Robert Barton caught a Kingfish in the bay on squid.
Small Stripers and Flounder have been reported at the Cape Henlopen Pier and Trout, Flounder and a few Bluefish have shown up at Broadkill.
Flounder and Trout are also keeping anglers busy in the Roosevelt Inlet.
Sea Bass continued to dominate fishing offshore. Chic Riggin, Walt Todd and Bernie Vilsack caught 55 Sea Bass up to 2.5 pounds at the B Buoy, while Mike Napier ran into Sea Bass and a 9.5-pound Tautog fishing an ocean wreck from the Michael D.
Tuna have also begun to show up, and some anglers are going after them despite the National Marine Fisheries' limit of one Bluefin Tuna per boat per day. Roger Williamson landed four Yellowfin Tuna at Massey's Canyon, Larry Lewandowski reported tuna catches, and Tom Holmes caught Tuna and Dolphin on Ballyhoo and ponytails.
Offshore anglers have reported Bluefin Tuna, Albacore, Mako and Slammer Blues at the Fingers, and Yellowfin Tuna at the Baltimore and Washington Canyons.
Bill's Sport Shop got quite a few reports from Indian River Inlet this week with large Stripers and Flounder dominating the news.
Gary Nureck caught 4 Stripers on live eels on two trips, "Tip Top" Van caught a 30-inch Striper on a chartreuse plug, and Brenda Olson snagged a 20-pound Striper on live eels.
Meanwhile, John Pittman, Howard Klaumenzer and George Houck landed 4 Flounder in the 4.5- to 6.75-pound range on squid drifting through the inlet.
