Birds are working Indian River Inlet hard these days, which can only mean that fish are still here.
Kathy Baker of Bill's Sport Shop says the payoff for Brian Elliott was 30 Herring and 3 Shad up to 3 pounds taken on Fin S Grubs and shad darts.
Rob Kriner also caught Herring on spec rigs and the Slicker III drifted the inlet on an outgoing tide and picked up 6 Stripers on tandem bucktail rigs and live eels.
Charlie Turner Sr. nailed 2 keeper Stripers drifting the inlet with bucktails and white worms and John and Matt Korman caught a 16-pound Striper on a live eel.
In the ocean, Scott Slonaker limited out on Tautog on the wreck at Fenwick Shoal, Mike Bream caught a pair of 9-pound 'Tog on green crabs on a wreck outside Indian River Inlet, and Tim Ortel reported Sea Bass and two 6-pound 'Tog.
The Delaware Bay, meanwhile, has been productive for Tautog at the Wall and Stripers at the Outer Wall, Rips, Haystacks, 8A and 8B Buoys, and Overfall Shoals.
A few anglers were also successful in the surf last week, as Fred Leske landed 3 Blues up to 20 inches using finger mullet and Tom Pankratz reeled in 3 Stripers including a keeper, 1 Flounder and 1 Ling on finger mullet at Conquest Road Beach.
