The big news in the ocean this week is the arrival of Mackerel due east of B Buoy, according to Kathy Baker of Bill's Sport Shop. In addition, boats are finding dogfish and herring. Tautog are being caught on the ocean wrecks.
Anglers are reporting undersize Stripers at Roosevelt Inlet. Bloodworms are working well there.
Bloodworms are also working for small Stripers in Indian River Inlet, where Frank Clarke reported success fishing the north pocket of the inlet.
Phillips Landing was productive for Nick Trampos, who caught White and Yellow Perch and Catfish on bloodworms.
Prime Hook has been yielding Perch on grass shrimp.
In fresh water, Lester Puckett weighed in a 1-pound, 8-ounce Crappie taken on a minnow in Silver Lake. And Gravel Hill Pond has been stocked with 500 Trout. Power bait and rooster tails are providing the best results.
