Lewes, Delaware Fishing Report

Healthy Tautog are still making the trip offshore a fun one for boats heading out to sea, reports Kathy Baker of Bill's Sport Shop.

Citation Taug have been reported, including a 14-pounder weighed in by Joe Sawczuk, who teamed with Crazy Dave and some green crabs one day last week to fill a cooler up with Taug.

Other big Taug were a 13.5-pounder caught by John DeMarco and an 11-pounder weighed in by Brian Elliott. DeMarco used green crabs and Elliott used clams.

There is also good news from Delaware Bay, where Don Dennerlein reported the boating of his first 30-inch keeper Striper southeast of 8B Buoy. Dennerlein caught the Striper on an eel.

At Indian River Inlet, undersize Stripers have been caught in the north pocket on bloodworms and Tautog have been caught on green crabs in the rocks.

Lots of Skate have been caught at the Cape Henlopen State Park Fishing Pier, but anglers there did report reeling in smaller Stripers on bloodworms and the first Bluefish.

In fresh water, Patrick Maloy weighed in a citation Trout of 3 pounds, 12 ounces. Maloy caught the fish at Gravel Hill Pond, which the state stocked twice in March with Trout.

Ed Wright weighed in a 5.25-pound Largemouth Bass from Silver Lake that he caught on a spinnerbait. John Korman caught a 4.5-pound Bass on minnows at Red Mill Pond. Nick Psaroudakis and his fishing partner, Steve, nailed 100 Crappies in Ingram's Pond. And James Johnson fished Wolf Run in Lewes and came out with a 5.5-pound Largemouth Bass that took a bloodworm.
