Like everywhere else on the Delaware-Maryland coast, Kathy Baker of Bill's Sport Shop expects fishing to pick up where it left off before the Nor'easter blew in early this week.
Before the storm, surf action at Cape Henlopen State Park was a hot spot as Tim Finkbiner and Tom Cahall landed 22 undersize Stripers on bloodworms, mullet and squid. Lewes Beach also reported good fishing with catches of Flounder and Trout.
Elsewhere around Lewes, Roosevelt Inlet was producing great Trout action and the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park yielded some nice Trout on squid for Sam Arshamsky.
Also at the pier, Rob Kriner picked up two Flounder and one Trout and some undersize Stripers on chartreuse sliders. Greg Hussong snarked two 23-inch Flounder and a 3-pound Trout on spec rigs and minnows.
At Broadkill Beach, Don Halverson, J.T. Bolding and Jack nailed 15 Trout. Dick Bushnoe weighed in a 6.5-pound Trout from the Broadkill using chicken.
In the Delaware Bay, Steve Friend III brought in a citation 7.5-pound Tautog from the Icebreakers. He used green crabs.
Blues were caught trolling the buoy lines on Maws orange and black rag mops, hoochies and pony tails.
Although Bluefish had slowed in the surf, Don Beck landed a 6.25-pounder at 3Rs Road on mullet and Brian Jones yanked a 9.25-pound Blue out of the Indian River Inlet on a black and purple bomber.
Indian River was also yielding keeper Stripers on eels, bucktails and bombers, 'Tog in the rocks on green crabs, and Trout on purple worms.
With 80-degree days predicted for this weekend and into early next week, Baker expects all of those fisheries to resume in earnest again.
