Action in the Delaware Bay and Roosevelt Inlet is improving weekly, according to Kathy Baker of Bill's Sport Shop.
Baker reports that Roger Williamson called in a 22-pound Striper on one trip into the bay and Stripers and Bluefish earlier this week at Overfalls Shoals.
The Outer Wall, meanwhile, yielded a limit of Tautog for Morris and Lenny Lapi on sand fleas and green crabs.
From the Roosevelt Inlet, Preston Cannon weighed in a 5 7/8-pound Weakfish caught on chicken and Steve Kiibler snared three Trout up to 24 inches and limited out on keeper Flounder.
At the Cape Henlopen State Park Fishing Pier, Brian Elliott from Bill's Sport Shop picked up six keeper Flounder on shiners. Gary Nureck weighed in a 3-pound Flounder on squid and Joe Spruill caught four keeper Trout on chicken. Rob Kriner was catching double-header Flounder using spec rigs and sand eels.
Reports from Lewes Beach are of good size Flounder and Trout.
Down at Indian River, a Bluefish Blitz last week headlined the week's fishing action.
Bill Weiss started the week out by nailing three Slammer Blues at 3 Rs Road. Mike Walker, Brian Elliott, Scott Ream, Tim Hornbeck, J.T. Bolding, Joe Beman, John Putnam, Chuck Covington and Jerry Jackson were also slamming big Blues at 3 Rs on mullet and bunker.
Indian River Bay has been producing nice Flounder including a 7-pound, 14-ounce flattie taken by Tim Barnett on minnows. In addition, George Fake limited out on Flounder up to 20 inches on squid and minnows and Trish Fink and her father, Scott, boated eight Flounder while drifting with shiners.
In the ocean, Mike Weeks weighed in a 7.25-pound Tautog taken while fishing with green crabs on an ocean wreck.
