Local fishing guru Don Halverson had plenty of fun at Broadkill Beach this week.
Kathy Baker of Bill's Sport Shop reports that Halverson limited out on Sea Trout and landed a 22-inch Speckled Trout and a Croaker on one expedition.
Another angler, Steve Kiebler, limited out on Trout on three trips to Broadkill. He also weighed in a dandy 4.5-pound Flounder.
From the Broadkill River, Paul Abrams weighed in a 6-pound Trout taken on peeler crabs.
Excellent fishing has been reported from Delaware Bay, where Roger Williamson caught keeper Stripers at the mouth of the bay. Trout and Flounder have been caught in great numbers and nice Tautog have been taken from the Wall on green crabs and sand fleas.
The Cape Henlopen State Park Pier has produced nice Flounder and Bill Steen weighed in a 6.5-pound Trout caught on minnows.
Jason Calderson caught a 6.5-pound Trout at the Roosevelt Inlet on peeler crabs.
At Indian River Inlet, Steve Wright and Dean Kestner had "Striper Fever" this week with keepers up to 17.5 pounds on three night-time trips. Kerry Kodish caught keepers on rigged eels and Brian Elliott reported lots of Trout up to 9 pounds on plugs from the rockpiles.
In the surf, "Bill the Meatcutter" caught Sharks and Bluefish at 3 Rs Road on mullet.
Offshore, Makos have been reported. Gene Dively, Brian Dawson and Don Wireck hooked up with Bluefish trolling 8 miles east of the Lightship. Albacore and Bonita were picked up closer to the Lightship on the troll.
Wally Bergmann caught lots of nice size Sea Bass at "B" Buoy.
