Hawaii - 1999
To get here you must start early in the morning, strap your board on your back or carry it for a mile and a half, up and down mountains, on a trail that's extremely rocky and sharp at times, at other times you can't keep your feet under you to save your life. Through waterfalls, rock jumps and continuous movement to make decent time, you finally get to this a huge right peaking against a cliff on the outside only to gather itself up and fold in half on the sand and spit its guts out. This place is the second deadliest beach on the island claiming around 12 lives per year. With the rips that will you swirl around and the surrouding cliffs to a place where you you can't paddle in for 20 miles, you'd might be better off making your way back to civilization before night falls and you can't walk the trail because your legs are cramping half way back. We did this trail barefoot.... that was a MISTAKE!!! It was a blast though.
