Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival
The 39th Annual Bethany Beach Arts Festival will take place on Saturday, September 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The popular one day show will feature jewelry, glass, pottery, watercolor and oil painting, photography, basketry, woodworking, and much more! More than 100 artists, both local and from around the country, will be displaying their works of art along the bandstand and boardwalk areas as well as the street festival areas in downtown Bethany Beach. There is not a more beautiful backdrop for unique works of art.
Discover the Arts and Antiques of the Quiet Resorts. A tour map will feature local businesses who create and sell fine arts and antiques. The guide and map will be distributed at the festival and is also available now at the Chamber Information Center.
Another new feature to this year's Arts Festival is a Meet the Artist Cocktail Party, featuring Kevin Fleming on Friday September 9th from 5:30 - 7:00pm. Tickets are $25 and all proceeds go toward the Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation. For more information, visit www.BethanyBeachArtsFestival.com.

Walk to Defeat ALS

This is an annual fun fundraiser to raise much needed contributions to aid those suffering from this terrible disease and to fund research to end it. Teams walk in unity to honor loved ones, deceased or current patients.  Music and food gives this a festive atmosphere.

SUPS with Your Pups 2

The event will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Abbott's Mill Nature Cener in Milford with an afternoon of SUPS for PUPS (and humans). This will include paddle boarding clinics for doggies and their masters, paddle board demos, the latest in boards and equipment, pet friendly vendors and SPCA dogs who would love to go paddle boarding with you!

21st Annual Dewey Beach Triathlon
Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Delaware Seashore State Park

Approximately 11 waves of swimmers will take off 3 minutes apart beginning at approximately 7:30 AM.  They will then bike south over the Inlet Bridge, make a uturn in front of Pelican’s Pouch, and return to the State Park.  The 3.5 mile run is through Dewey and back.

Proceeds from this year’s race will go to United Through Sport USA, a nonprofit group focused on working with kids from disadvantaged backgrounds using the power of sport to improve education, raise health awareness and build life skills.  With that mission in mind, the triathlon this year features a free Kids Challenge on Friday, September 15 at packet pickup at the Big Chill Beach Club.  Pre-registration requested – go to www.deweybeachtriathlon.com for more information or to register.  Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are available and appreciated.

Awards will be presented to the top 3 finishers as well as 5 year age groups, Arenas, Clydesdales, Master Clydesdales, and Relay Teams (M,F and Coed)

DNREC & Beach Replenishment.  Jennifer Luoma of DNREC, Division of Watershed Stewardship, will discuss how the beaches are effected by storms and ocean currents and the history of beach replenishment.  Also, information on efforts employed to stop erosion naturally will be provided.  $5.00 suggested donation per person. World War I at Cape Henlopen

Capt. William Manthorpe will present a program about WWI. This year is the 100th anniversary of US entry into the war. Captain Manthorpe’s presentations illustrate the continuing history of the Navy in the Cape Henlopen Area. Capt. Manthorpe's programs are very popular and always a sellout. $5 suggested donation.
