Cape Henlopen State Park sits east of Lewes with 5 miles of shoreline where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. Camping, hiking, the Great Walking Dune, a nature center, swimming, a bathhouse, fishing pier and an observation tower are just a few of the attractions.

Facilities, Features of Cape Henlopen State Park

Ocean swimming on guarded beaches.
Bathhouse with food concessions.
Camping for tents, trailers and RVs with picnic tables, water hookups, and bathhouse.
Surf fishing or Fishing from 1/4-mile fishing pier.
Recreation -- Tennis, Basketball Courts, Hockey and Softball Fields, 18-Hole Disc Golf Course.
Picnic areas with pavilions.
Great Walking Dune.
World War II Observation Tower.
Nature Trails with Guides.
The American Discovery Trail starts at Cape Henlopen, Delaware
Seaside Nature Center -- A museum of ocean life. Special programs on a regular basis. Open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sundays from 12-4 p.m. Sept. 10-March 31 (closed holidays). Reminders From the Park Office

Fees are collected daily in summer, weekends and holidays in spring and fall. Annual permits are available at park office.
In June and July, some small sections of the 5-mile beach may be closed to protect endangered shorebird nesting areas. Call 302-645-8983 for more information.
Keep the park grounds and restrooms clean and remember to recycle when possible.
