Annual walk aims to support breast cancer programs across Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and Central and Southern Delaware
Registration and fundraising for the event are now open at komenmd.org/delmarva.
NEW THIS YEAR: Registration for the Walk is complimentary.
This event, now in its 9th year, features a 1 or 3-mile walk on the boardwalk and an opportunity to celebrate survivors, honor those living with breast cancer and remember those we have lost while raising funds for local breast health programs and groundbreaking research. About 1,500 people usually attend the Walk.
Komen has invested more than $5 million in life-saving Eastern shore breast health programs since 1993. Recently, Komen Maryland began serving Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware.
All participants and survivors will receive a complimentary Komen wrap to use in the opening ceremonies.
Participants must fundraise at least $100 to receive a walk t-shirt, except for survivors, who will receive a t-shirt regardless of fundraising.
“We are hoping that by eliminating the registration fee, we will encourage more people to attend the Walk and raise funds so that we can continue our life-saving work on the Shore,” said Karen Falk, Komen’s Delmarva Development Manager.
